Michael R. Poole, AIA, NCARB

Principal, CEO

Michael R. Poole is managing partner and Chief Executive Officer of Poole & Poole Architecture.

Mr. Poole currently holds architectural licenses in 19 states and an NCARB certificate for eligibility for nationwide licensing. Mike has over 20 years of experience in architecture planning, design, and construction. His technical knowledge on code and construction issues combined with his preservation background and design expertise is a cornerstone of 2PA. Though he has worked with many major building types, it is with multi-family that Mike has most distinguished himself; from suburban garden style and townhouse forms to dense urban infill and large scale multi-storied buildings.

Mike's work in many historic districts has been nationally recognized through awards and publications, chief amongst these: The Best of Tampa Award for his work on a high density infill apartment project in the Olde Hyde Park historic district. His work has also been recognized by the Pillars of the Industry Awards, the Aurora Awards and the Multi-Family Executive Awards. Mike has worked successfully with architectural review boards in several states to facilitate the development of projects in historic districts. These works include facade restorations, contextual infills as well as complete building renovations of restaurants, apartments, condominiums and retail shops. Most notable of these

commissions is the design of The Lady and Sons, the original restaurant of renowned chef and Food

Network favorite, Paula Deen, located in the historic district of Savannah, Georgia.

Mike manages the computer applications used in the company. He personally leads the 3D-computer design and visualization projects, as well as imparts this knowledge to his staff through a series of in-house university programs. Mike has also participated as a judge for the prestigious Pillars and the Aurora Awards; yearly industry-wide awards presented to outstanding builders,architects, planners, developers and other housing-related professionals in a 12-state region. Mike is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design where he received both a Bachelor and

Masters of Architecture as well as a Bachelor in Historic Preservation. He has been recognized by his Alma mater as a distinguished alumnus.
