Nea May Poole and her husband Mike were searching for their forever home and decided to transform a Dutch gambrel-style barn that had been part of a large cattle farm. To preserve the original look of the hay barn, they decided to keep the original structural beams and columns, as well as an existing door and window openings, which presented a real design challenge.
A floor-to-ceiling wall of blue quartzite with a cantilevered shelf provides the backdrop for the elegant vessel tub – a must for the lady of the house. Surrounding the tub are the fireplace, the coffee station and the TV.
The vessel tub is able to retain the water’s heat, and it also provides lumbar support.
